Box Car Cafe & Cones

Boxcar cafe is located right by the depot and museum. We ordered lunch and our food came out in about 2 minutes. The problem with that is that it’s not at all freshly made. Burger was barely Luke warm, cheese and mushrooms were right from the fridge cold. The only thing that seemed freshly made were the fries. I wouldn’t recommend.

Boxcar is an old-school eatery that resembles a 50s diner. The food is traditional cafe style of burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. We ordered a few different entrees that were quite good and flavorful. The staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations and customer service. The 50s diner theme was fun. Every aspect from decor to furniture all resembled that era.

First time visiting Bryson City on vacation and was looking for a good spot for lunch. Came across this diner and wanted to give it to try. The woman running the counter was friendly and the cook said hello as well. I thought the pricing for a burger, fries and a drink was very reasonable and it came out great. I needed a good cheat meal on vacation and that definitely happened here. They even asked if the food came out ok and of course I said yes. Definitely would come back please support local business like these folks!

This is my daily lunch go-to! Staff is friendly, food is delicious and presented beautifully. The shakes are amazing! They definitely make one of the best Grilled Chicken Wraps ever!

This is a nice throwback restaurant with good food and great customer service! I had a BBQ pork wrap that was delicious! My husband had the fish and chips. The fries were so good but the fish was really greasy and not very tasty. The ice cream was also super delicious! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which was very accommodating and created a great atmosphere. We will definitely go back when we return to Bryson City in a few weeks.
