Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch

So glad we stayed at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch! The grounds are beautiful and surrounded by peaceful wilderness. The sweet woman who checked us in was kind and accommodating. The lodge is so cozy. It was mid November when we stayed and cold at night but when we got inside, the lodge was perfectly warm (and it’s a big lodge!). We had a room upstairs and there was a little common area to relax in with a couch and table or we could also enjoy the main room with multiple couches, chairs and a table to play games. They served coffee and a nice, light and healthy continental breakfast there in the morning. I initially booked a room in May 2025 through Hotels.com for a stay in late September 2025. I had to cancel the reservation almost immediately and then rebooked within 24 hours, all done through Hotels.com. Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch charged me for both the original booking and the rebooking. The charges were not done through Hotels.com. It took multiple emails and phone calls over a couple of weeks before Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch finally refunded the charge for the initial booking that I had canceled. I eventually canceled my other booking through Hotels.com, and was well within the cancellation window. It took Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch ONE month to refund the charge for the second booking!

We spent three wonderful autumn nights at the Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch. With its rustic elegance we felt like we were in the Ponderosa from Bonanza. Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional which helped make our stay a memorable one. In the Great Room on the second floor of the lodge, we met friendly guests from all parts of the country and the world. Within a short drive were some of the most picturesque Utah desert wilderness hikes imaginable. Add to that the gourmet restaurant on the second floor, it would be difficult to imagine a more delightful experience.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying in Yurt #1 over the weekend. The yurt itself was so cute and very well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. We really loved relaxing on the patio. The grounds are also spacious and gorgeous, so peaceful and grounding. The lodge common area was very cozy and my daughter loved the board games available to play. Would definitely recommend if staying in the area!

Wasn’t sure what to expect driving down Hell’s Backbone Road. You lose cell service a bit before you get there, and by the time you hit the dirt driveway, you realize you are truly out in the middle of the Utah desert. But that is exactly why this place works. We stayed in Cabin 3, which I think they call one of the "Family Cabins." Having a proper living room and a full kitchen (stove, full-size fridge, the works) was a great. Since we didn't eat at the restaurant on-site, being able to actually cook our own meals comfortably rather than just relying on a microwave was huge. We spent most of our time out on the deck watching the light change on the red rocks. It feels nice and secluded, even though there are other cabins nearby.
