Bootleggers Cookhouse

This unique Italian restaurant is located in a popular part of town. There is parking on the street in front but lots more parking in a large back parking lot. The inside is beautifully decorated and smells wonderful when you walk in. We came here for pizza and we found pizza. We watched the dough being made right in the open kitchen right beside the Hugh oven that they are cooked in. We got the Bugsey loaded with meat veggies and cheese. Delicious! The server suggested the cheese sticks, pizza dough loaded with melted cheese and garlic, you have to try them. We finished with the chocolate cake that is so light it melts in your mouth and cheese cake drizzled with caramel. Both were the perfect end to a perfect meal. We both love pasta, so we will be back to try the rest of the menu.

Loved this place. I ordered the white chicken lasagna and OMG it was so good I do believe I could have ate a nother order of it. My waitress was extremely nice. And the price was excellent.

The server was confused and didn't put our appetizer in with our meal order. After waiting 20 minutes, we asked when our garlic knots would be out, and she left to check. She said that they didn't start the order and she wasn't sure why. Within 15 mins, we got our meal chicken parmigiana (breading was soggy) and a pizza. The pizza was average. The spaghetti had ok sauce, but that was it. I was supposed to have a side salad (usually brought before the meal). Then we got the garlic knots, and they were not cooked through. They were doughy on one side and burnt on another, so we sent them back and just wanted few breadsticks. They took 30 more minutes to get. It was very underwelming.

We loved the atmosphere. Immediately upon entering, you notice the unique decor. The service was great and frequent. Our order was timely. Pizza, the best I've had in recent memory! Shelby was our server. Top notch.

Bootlegger and Busted Oak are related with Busted Oak being the speakeasy down the sidewalk. Bootlegger makes the food....their marinara sauce is the BEST EVER! I buy extra (8 oz = $4) Atmosphere is great in both but Busted Oak serves everything 'to go' style. I like that its a speakeasy and atmosphere is great but wish they had a shared kitchen in the same building with Bootleggers so they could serve on real plates and not have to walk the food from Boitleggers, down the sidewalk to Busted Oak.
