Bombay Velvet

An amazing lunch meal at Bombay Velvet! The kitchen was extremely easy to work with and made a lamb kadai for my husband, even though it wasn’t on the menu. The lamb was very tender and the kadai was amazing. My fish curry was fantastic, as well! A beautiful blend of fresh flavors delivered a new tasting experience. We finished with a small dessert that was simple and delicious. Thanks to RJ for the impeccable service - you’re absolutely great!

We have known of this restaurant for a while and were glad we decided to give it a shot. everything was nice especially loved the butter naan with garlic and Alleypey fish curry. The fried patty made of minced lotus was unique and nice! All in all we are happy and will go back when we feel like Indian. All staff are friendly and very tentative. They even went out of the way to make our dish first before the 20 people party so we didn’t have to wait for long.

Bombay Velvet is a lovely restaurant nestled between a Mexican and an American restaurant in Reston. Parking is very convenient — free street parking upto 3 hours is available right in front of the restaurant, and there’s also a nearby garage with free parking. The interior of the restaurant is calm and beautiful, with the ambience and mood set just right, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner or a special occasion. We had a reservation for 7:00 PM and were seated immediately upon arrival by our server/manager, Tapi. The restaurant was pleasantly calm for a Saturday night, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We asked for non-alcoholic drink recommendations, and Tapi’s suggestions were spot on. I was taken here for my birthday and everything was perfect. It was our first time and all the drinks and we food we chose tasted amazing. My favorite was the chicken biryani. RJ’s Service was top notch! The chef personally came out to ask about how we enjoyed his food. We felt very well fed and well taken care of when we left. Thank you!

Such a great experience at Bombay Velvet. RJ was amazing—so welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. His recommendations were spot-on, and everything I ordered was delicious. I especially loved the palak chaat and the garlic naan—both were standout dishes—but honestly, everything was really good. And hands down, they have the best mango lassi in town. From the food to the service, the whole experience was top tier. I left happy, satisfied and with leftovers and already planning my next visit. Definitely ask for RJ!
