Bole Ethiopian Restaurant

I LOVE Ethiopian food, probably a result of having lived there for 3 months. I'm always looking for a place that takes me back to Addis and the land of 13 months of sunshine. Mulu served us some delicious vegetarian options, and my favorite wut was the firfir (nice spice level and great spices). The tej (honey wine) was also sublime. Cozy spot, with frankincense burning as we entered, I'll be back!

My husband and I love this restaurant. We come here nearly every time we take a trip into Portland. The owner is so nice and knows our go-to order. The food is always 10/10 and the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this place.

I’ve been to many Ethiopian restaurants in Portland, and this one is hands-down the best I’ve ever had—outside of Ethiopia itself! Every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, authentic, and made with so much care. My 15-year-old son gave it the highest compliment he could: at the end of the meal, he turned to me and asked, “Do you think I could work here, Mom?” This place is a true gem, and we’ll definitely be coming back regularly!

Delicious Ethiopian food!! We shared a vegetarian combo which was so tasty! We didn’t eat two of the pieces of injera and I said no thank you to a to go box for the injera which wouldn’t have been very good to eat alone. The woman asked me what our favorite dishes were and later returned with a small box with the two pieces of injera and some of each of our favorite dishes! So very generous and kind!

Great little place. Says we're warm and welcoming. Food fed me and my soul. Such warmth and comfort while eating. Thank you!
