Blue Kuna Smokehouse

Some months ago we saw an article naming the Blue Kuna Smokehouse as an outstanding new restaurant and we made a note to try them out the next time we were in the area. That was one of the best decisions we have made in quite some time! This is not a fancy place, you should not be expecting any such thing but it's all quite cozy with some nice comfy touches . There is a small area with a few tables upstairs and a few more tables outside for times of better weather. I got the brisket combo plate with baked beans and coleslaw and my wife got the pulled pork, with mac and cheese plus the beans. The description in the menu said the plates came with two small sides but I don't believe anyone would call these small, the portions were very satisfactory. And the sandwiches were quite overflowing.

Great brisket!! I ended up not even using the sauce bc it was already so moist and flavorful. Baked beans were tasty with just a little kick of heat but not too much. Mac and cheese was creamy and yum. Upper dining room is cozy and squeaky clean. Good music, great vibe overall. Will definitely return.

Had some amazing BBQ on this winter day in Michigan. I had the pulled pork combo with my favorite apple smash bbq sauce, also had the best amazing corn bread, and Mac and cheese finished it off with a faygo drink. Laura had pulled pork sandwich and cherry BBQ sauce and brisket lentil soup with a fayo drink. Chef Randall Blue Kuna Industries took care of us along with his team. Next time your in the Plymouth area come in and check this amazing place out. 😋

Those who know me may call me a pulled pork connoisseur or maybe a pulled pork snob. They know what I’m ordering anytime it’s on the menu. Today, I went to Blue Kuna for the first time. This may be the best pulled pork I’ve ever had in my decades of life! It was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The place is adorable. And Randall introduced himself and shook my hand before I left, which was just an added bonus. My mouth will water every time I think of this place between now and when I can go again. So my advice to you is GO! As fast as you can! And tell Randall that Julie said “hello.”
