Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast

This bed-and-breakfast was absolutely delightful—cozy, quaint, and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the hosts were extremely accommodating with wonderful communication and genuine hospitality that made us feel right at home. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from charming shops, great restaurants, and lovely boutiques, all set against a gorgeous lakefront backdrop. It was the perfect blend of peaceful and convenient, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

We had an excellent stay at the Blue Heron B&B! It’s modern, comfortable and has everything you need for an incredible getaway. Breakfast is in your room and ready-to-go. Delicious pastries, quiche, juice, milk and coffee. It’s located on Girod Street which has great restaurants and shopping nearby. This B&B is only a short walk from the lake and Mandeville has created great sidewalks to get you there. If you are anywhere near old Mandeville and need a relaxing getaway, stay here!!!

If I could give 10 stars I would! Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast is the best on the Northshore! From location, to restaurants, bike trails, the lakefront, etc. this is the place to stay. They welcome you and make sure you feel right at home. We highly recommend and will be back!!

We stayed three nights and, while the location is convenient—close to the bike trail, lake, and restaurants—the overall experience was disappointing. Positives: The room was cute, clean, and nicely furnished. It included a microwave, refrigerator with freezer, dish set, and small touches like oatmeal and milk, bottled water. Negatives: From the start, communication was poor. The only message from the host was a door code text, which arrived late after check-in time. The property has major issues the listing does not disclose: heavy smoke and odors from the restaurant kitchen exhaust next door made the porch nearly unusable. To make things worse, the host burned yard waste one afternoon, filling the property with smoke (see attached pictures). The mattress was worn out and uncomfortable.

We were in Mandeville for a nephew’s wedding and stayed at the Blue Heron. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was in walking distance to the lake, restaurants, and shopping. It was also minutes to the church and reception venue. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others as well.
