The hot dogs themselves were very good. The relish was good but I didn't think it was anything special. It was enjoyable just not knock me down good like I was expecting. The service was quick and the counter help was very friendly.

If you find yourself on I-84 near Waterbury, do yourself a favor and make an easy detour to this restaurant. It's got phenomenal, natural casing hot dogs that are deep fried and can be dressed up with their signature relish. Don't forget the burger though - very tasty and freshly prepared. You can sit at the counter or at a table in the dining room. Very reasonably priced.

Very cool old school no frills tasty hot dogs and cheeseburgers! Driving through Connecticut. Stopped and checked out Blackie’s. They make their own relish. You dress up the hot dog and cheeseburger how you would like. You have a choice of homemade relish, spicy ground mustard, and ketchup. They are not open on Fridays. No meat allowed on Fridays!
