Black Ember Smokehouse

We visited Black Ember Smokehouse for the first time today. We were kindly greeted by two employees when we walked in. The menu is posted on the wall behind the counter as you order that way and they bring it to you afterwards. We ordered the pulled pork and the brisket. It comes with a very tasty corn bread muffin and coleslaw. The pulled pork and brisket were both very tasty, the corn bread muffins are warm wrapped in foil and served with butter packets on the side. The cole slaw was not too much to our liking, but that's just a personal taste thing. They have three different sauces at the tables. I'm not even done eating the food and I'm giving this place the easiest 5 stars of my life. Food is SO flavorful, staff is very friendly and nice, and it smells amazing inside. Whoever says this place isn't good must not like smoked food at all. Was it a little pricey? Yeah, but the food for sure makes up for it. Will definitely be a mandatory stop whenever I come through escanaba.

Tried for the first time. Blacksmith panini was awesome with brisket, bacon jelly and guoda cheese. Chips were good, got a side of Piggy baked beans that were delicious. Check out the menu online, can't wait to try something else!

This was absolutely perfect! It exceeded my expectations. However, they were out of pulled pork, but I compromised. I got a single serving of chicken that came with coleslaw and cornbread. I added a side of mac & cheese, worth it! The total was just below $12! It was just the right amount of food, delicious, and fast! They have three different types of barbecue sauces on the tables; Cran chipotle barbecue, KC barbecue and gold barbecue.
