Black Cap Brewing Company

My family and I visited Black Cap Brewing Company for the first time during the Red Lion Street Fair. When we arrived, it was practically empty, but it quickly filled up with at least six other tables. Despite being the only server on the floor, Dani was absolutely amazing—friendly, attentive, and efficient. You would have never guessed she was juggling so many tables on her own! The food was fantastic—the brisket and pulled pork were flavorful and tender, and the chicken Caesar wrap was packed with taste. We had such a great first visit and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

We had a group of six visit FSS last night while our kids were over at the Fringe Golf Club. We headed to Black Cap around 7:45 and were seated right away. Our host and servers were incredibly friendly, the drinks were great, and the pricing was surprisingly reasonable when the bill came — overall, an excellent experience. One small note: as a fellow small business owner, I couldn’t help but notice the team started closing up around 8pm, and the door was locked around 8:15 even though the posted hours said they were open until 9. We saw a few people try to come in and weren’t able to. I mentioned it to our server in case it was unintentional but the door remained locked. Other than that, we enjoyed everything and will definitely be back.

Clean and open atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the perfect place for a date night or getting some drinks with friends. I tried some beer and cocktails, too, and it was all good. Stop by, support a local business, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve visited about 5-6 times, and unfortunately the service has consistently been poor. It’s understandable on their busier nights, but even on regular evenings the service has been extremely slow—whether it’s ordering food, getting drinks, receiving the check, or asking for anything else. The food is OK but nothing particularly memorable, especially considering the price point. While it is on the expensive side for the portions and what you’re getting for your $, they do offer some specials, which is a nice way to save a bit.

Have been looking forward to the opening for quite some time!!!! The beers were AMAZING! Service was very prompt and kind. Only minor critique was that the bar seats were very uncomfortable 😬 we were sliding off the chairs and they were very small. Otherwise SO happy that black cap is finally open! Cannot wait to go back!
