Sat 6pm. 8 people. Not busy at all. The place inside is very cool! But for a spacious place we were not welcomed in, stood there for a min or 2 wondering if we seat ourselves or wait. Took a few min to get menues. Appetizer came before drinks. Via robot. No ranch, had to get up and get it from the salad bar. Ordered a pulled pork sand and the tex nachos. Pulled pork was good, but fries were cold. Nachos were gross. Looked like what yould get at a baseball field with pork just added on top. Service was just ok. Not bad not great. Apparently you pay at the counter... But that was not mentioned. Just had to figure it out. If there was music it was very quiet, so kind of an awkward setting. And 22 0z beer was $9 very pricey even for coors lite. BUT tax is included in all prices so that helpe
My time at Big Tex was wonderful. I enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the staff. The portions were good and I really liked the pinto bean side and the fresh cut french fries. I highly recommend you eat here if you are in the Willcox area.
The bad - this place is expensive, and they have a robot serving food which I despise. The good - the food was tasty. I didn't have the salad bar, but it looked really fresh and well stocked. Our server was nice, and the place had charm.
Being a railfan sitting and eating in a Railroad dining car was a real treat. The food was good and we had leftovers which was still good the next day. Ralph the Robot was a first for us. Our server was very nice and kind. I will definitely eat here again.
Very generous portions. Part of the restaurant is a decommissioned railcar. Apparently I had ordered the wrong item as I was expecting brisket sandwich instead brisket burger. The burgers was just ok but came with a full basket of tasty strawfries. I will have to give this place another go on my next visit. Also they have a small selection of homemade beef jerky that looked really good.
