Big Papa Gyro

I usually LOVE this place but I just had to throw almost my whole gyro in the trash. I don’t know if it’s my fault for ordering almost an hour before close on DoorDash but if that’s the case don’t make it available to order at a certain time please. My gyro looked amazing until I got to the meat it was crumbled and so hard I thought it was bones. So gross. The pita was good but I lost my appetite from the super crunchy lamb or whatever you put in my to-go box.

This place is awesome! The food is amazing, and everyone there is so friendly. Raul gave my sister in law a free meal because she’s getting married, and we were having her Bach trip! And he also gave me a slice of lamb to try to see if I liked it. And it was so good!! So tender and savory! Definitely get the lentil soup and any gyro plate!

Food here is pretty good. Not a lot of options in Huntsville for Mediterranean food so this place is pretty decent. My problem here is with the service. Two issues. 1. You cannot make substitutions when ordering online. For example, if I want to order a pita sandwich with no lettuce, I don’t get to make that decision online. 2. When I picked up my order, I had to wait, which was fine. 10 minutes later they brought my food up and it just sat there for an additional 10 minutes while they took orders. When I got to the car, my fries were cold.

We've never been dissatisfied with an experience at this eatery. The food is always tasty, plentiful, and well-prepared. The people are patient and capable, and the outdoor seating on the sidewalk was perfect with outstanding weather and family in town. Recommended!
