Berkeley County Library - Goose Creek

Staff is not very considerate regarding how loud they are speaking. What's the point of coming to the library to do your work in peace and quiet if the staff won't even speak quietly? And since the staff doesn't speak quietly, the people they are helping at the desk don't speak quietly either. It's annoying and very disappointing. Definitely will search for other libraries.

The people in Goose Creek, SC were really wonderful and helpful. It is rare finding people who are courteous, respectful and civil. ALL of these qualities were present during our visit. My wife and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed our time there and will DEFINITELY return. KUDOS to South Carolina 👏.

I frequent this library quite a bit. Love the selection of books and I always get my questions answered about specific books. Delightful way to start the day!

I love and support libraries in every community, and most of my experiences in South Carolina, my home state, have been positive and kind. Unfortunately, this recent visit was different. About 5–10 minutes before closing, two staff members were rushing me to leave instead of simply making a clear announcement. Their approach felt more like monitoring than assisting, and one staff member even swatted her hand dismissively when I tried to speak. The building was closed within 10 minutes after closing, which I understand, but the way it was handled came across as unpleasant and uncourteous. This doesn’t define all libraries, but I hope staff remember that patrons deserve respect and a welcoming atmosphere (not eager to leave staff), even at closing time.

The librarians were very nice Always Welcoming us :) After we visited library It really opened my eyes how the library is fun & family place to go (We got to have snack out side ☺️) That makes my kids wants to get closed to books so they can get more knowledge :)
