Benson's Homemade Ice Cream

Some of the best vegan ice cream I have had. I loved the variety of flavors. When I went they had coffee and pistachio in stock which is a winning combination!

I love how creamy and fresh of the ice cream! Ordered a pistachio flavor which is not too sweet with almond base.

Benson's does a great job of offering homemade and vegan ice cream specialties in a country setting. Their servings are rather large so be careful. They're half scoop is the equivalent of most single scoops. We tried the black raspberry and the ginger ice cream both which were excellent. You pay you pay a little bit more but it's considered premium homemade ice cream. There are also gluten-free and vegan options for those with special dietary needs. There's ample parking and a sitting area with picnic tables. All in I'd read it on A-.

We went yesterday for Father's Day and it was as busy as ever even though the sky's looked like they were about to open up the entire time we were there. This happened to be our first visit of the year and they had a few new flavors we'd never seen before including banana and a few sugar free flavors. If you do happen to go to Benson's soon when they still have their native strawberry available make sure to try it with the banana. You certainly won't be disappointed if you do. There is not a bad choice to be made on the entire menu and don't ever hesitate to try the new flavors because 9/10 times they're a home run. Benson's was a very big disappointment. I had heard for a couple of years on how good there is cream was,, but neither my daughter or I finished ours because of how tasteless and off putting the texture. Ice cream was so watery tasting that it tasted like it was made with skim milk than with cream. It also was not smooth but had small ice crystals throughout. We both had the the chocolate chip cookie dough. There was very little dough and the ice cream and the large amount of chocolate chips had a chaulky consistency to them. There are far better ice cream man places in the area, and Benson's is not worth the price.
