I've been wanting to come here for three years, finally was able to between shifts for my lunch break. The ladies working there were helpful and friendly, and my food was all ready to go in about 8-11 minutes. The food is all vegan, and although I'm not vegan I wanted to give it a try since I love supporting local business!! I got a turkey sandwich, lox (made of carrots), chocolate peanut butter brownie and a drink. The combo wasn't bad, the food overall tastes pretty decent. Not really filling unfortunately for me, but I do recommend it if you're looking for plant based and you're in the area. I'll go back for sure to try something new. They serve coffee and tea here as well. I highly recommend the brownies!!! A few dining tables available outside, no dining inside as the space is very sm

i've been wanting to go here for years now, and now that i'm in san diego again i finally got a chance to check this place out! the store is fairly small, with a limited amount of tables for outdoor seating only and a deli counter and space to order/wait inside. the menu is quite large and it was very difficult to decide what to order! i was originally going for a bagel, but the reuben caught my eye and i ended up ordering that instead. i'll have to come back and try some of the other menu items because it was delicious and very filling. the reuben meat is made excellently and i appreciate how the sandwich was wrapped up! i'm a big fan of this place and hope to come back again before i leave. there are a lot of things i want to try! definitely recommend checking it out if you haven't alrea

Ben & Esther’s Vegan Delicatessen is a must-visit spot if you’re craving classic deli comfort food with a plant-based twist. We ordered the vegan Philly cheesesteak along with a side of potato salad, and both were absolutely satisfying. The Philly was packed with flavor, featuring perfectly seasoned, tender plant-based “meat,” melty vegan cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers that really nailed that traditional deli taste. It was hearty, filling, and didn’t feel like we were missing out on anything compared to the original. The potato salad was a great complement—creamy, well-balanced, and not overly heavy. You can tell it’s made with care, keeping that nostalgic deli vibe while staying completely vegan. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The atmosphere at Ben & Esther’s

Photo is the steak and eggs breakfast sandwich, but their rueben, brisket, and lox are all incredible. The knish - SO good, I could eat like 5. Black and white cookie is really good!! I haven't had anything bad there, excellent quality and many items you can't find in other places.

Tried the egg salad sandwich and the hot dog, both were seriously good. The egg salad was creamy and full of flavor, and the hot dog had that classic deli vibe with a plant-based twist. Super satisfying. The place had a chill atmosphere, quick service, and just good energy all around. Walked out already thinking about what I’ll try next. If you’re into tasty vegan comfort food, this spot definitely delivers.
