Absolutely phenomenal! We have come here for their sandwiches before (their Turkey Bacon Club is what dreams are made of) but we decided to try their bagel breakfast sandwiches today. I got their egg and cheese with a garlic bagel and scallion cream cheese. My husband got their bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. And oh my goodness, they both were incredible! Don't even get me started on their loaded backed potato salad. Best potato salad of my life. Case in point, Ben and Esther's is amazing and I cannot wait to come back immediately!
Cozy, classic neighborhood deli atmosphere with super friendly staff and a generous menu to choose from. The Veggie Bagel sandwich is loaded and incredibly filling with the best vegan cream cheese I've ever tasted. The brisket sandwich is rich and satisfying with a drip down your face horseradish aioli. We're excited to return to try everything else on the menu!
Ben and Esther’s Delicatessen is so good that it could stand on its own against any Jewish deli in NYC. You can never go wrong with their breakfast sandwiches! We branched out and tried the lox everything bagel, latkas, matzo bowl soup and the Reuben hot dog!
Ben & Esther's is SO GOOD. Probably the best vegan bagel sandwich situation I've ever had - I got the steak, egg, and mushroom sandwich with veggie cream cheese. The latkes and knishes were also top-notch. I don't live in Portland, but now I know I'm gonna have to make a Ben & Esther's stop any trip I make to Portland in the future!
I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese on everything bagel. It was delicious. It is so nice to have a nice variety of vegan menu items that have great flavor, texture and presentation.
