Bee Cave Public Library

This cozy little library is on the side of the Bee Cave City Hall facing the Hill County Galleria main square. In addition to all the books and other media, it displays pictures of the old Bee Cave school and students. There are restrooms just inside the city hall courtyard and free parking on adjoining streets and nearby garages.

When I first moved to the area, I had a hard time finding a community. I would go to the library to look for audiobooks and every time I would go I would get into conversation with one of the librarians. I slowly felt more and more confident in joining groups like book buzz and now book club. Its the highlight of my month now and I absolutely love the people I've met. A library is literally a place for all stories to be shared. A silent stoic library can be cold and feel uncomfortable but a library where laughter and stories are encouraged is a gift. The Bee Cave library is well positioned in the heart of Galleria shopping plaza. This five star review is primarily because of the amazing staff that works here and helps patrons. They make it very easy to find children’s books and get them checked out. They have flexibility on how long you keep the books despite the due dates. The childrens book section could use some expansion, especially given the rapid population growth in Hill country. Overall really enjoy coming to this library, especially well suited for children. In front of the library is an open space where children can play and plenty of coffee spots and restaurants to grab a book from this library and enjoy!

I had a very disappointing experience at Bee Cave Library. This was my first visit, and when I asked if I needed to register for anything, the staff told me, “I’ll log you in so you can use it,” without giving me any information about printing costs or the fact that I am eligible for a free library card as a Travis County resident. Later, I was suddenly charged $10 for 50 pages. This was never explained upfront. Had the staff done their job and informed me properly, I would have registered for a library card immediately and avoided this issue. Instead, when I questioned the charge, I was spoken to in a condescending, disrespectful manner, as if I had no intention of paying. This is unacceptable. I pay taxes in Travis County and expect professional service, not dismissive treatment. New p

It’s a classroom in there not a library. The receptionists are even more loud than the kids on the other end of the hall. I could hear them chatting and laughing so loud from across the library. They chat for at least 5 minutes with everyone coming in and out. Please keep it quiet ! We didn’t come here because we’re bored at home, some people actually come out here to study.
