BBQ Joint

Fantastic food and friendly service. I had the brisket and dirty rice. Unique little place and they did not nickel and dime me for extra sauce, etc. My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a little background music because it was a little too quiet, even with customers in there. I will return next time I’m in Center, Texas!

I miss the old BBQ joint with the old owners. Ever since the new owners took over prices have gone up and the poppers have shrunk to about half their size (and cost more). Just today I tried to get the fish special but because I don't like coleslaw they we're going to force me buy it and throw it in the trash. That's not cool. I've gone by 2 or 3 times to try and give him another shot but every time I get shot down with something else. I used to love their potatoes with barbecue beef but now they've changed where you can only get their special on Wednesday with chicken so I guess no more potatoes for me.

I came here with a coworker twice within one week because the food was great, BUT the customer service we received from the owners were extraordinary! James and Anita truly know how to make you feel welcomed the moment you walk through the door until the moment you walk out. We had the fried chicken on one day and the fish on another. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned to perfection. James even took the time to make a fresh batch for my coworker. He was engaging and talked with us as if we had been friends for years. The next visit we had the fish which was prepared with the same tasteful results as the chicken. Had the rib plate and jalapeno poppers and everything was excellent highly recommended.

Since the new owners took over, the one meat plate only comes with one side and a drink (Tea and Juice) no soda. Also they are giving way less meat. And even though the potato salad and cole slaw is supposed to be homemade it looks like it came from a bag. The brisket is very good.
