Baxter County Library

We moved to Mountain Home early 2018. We moved from Tulsa and I was worried about libraries. I love libraries. The first time we visited I knew all was good. My grandbabes have a fun place to visit.

Our library's size is beautiful! The layout is nice on the eyes and makes you feel like you want to stay forever. Now, our library has access to digital books online. There are a lot of books I've wanted to read but our library never seems to have them available online nor in print edition. Why???!!! What's the point of having a library so grand if I can never find the books I want to read?! It makes me frustrated. Next, is the used book library sales. Now, as an avid reader, I know prices have gone up but whoever is now pricing the library used books is over pricing them. A majority of the books are used and should not be $2 per book. The hardback are $3 but the majority of them are now $6. There's an online books subscription platform that sells new book releases in hardcovers for $10

Beautiful library, amazing children's section down stairs. There is a space for everyone from adult, teens, kids, toddlers and babies. They also have activities and events throught the week I feel so greatful to have access to this in our community.

The staff at the front desk have no nice manners! Very sad to be made to feel like I'm not welcome there! The library itself is beautiful and full of wonderful resources, but if you'be forgotten your basic human kindness and manners you shouldn't be working at a job that deals with people!! Time to retire...

The library is incredibly beautiful, has lots of activities for all ages and a wonderful youth section downstairs.
