Batavia Public Library

The children's library is the best in the area. They have so many activities for the kids to do and they constantly rotate them out. I've been taking my kids here weekly for years now and they still love going every time. The Staff is extremely friendly and patient with the kiddos. I'm very thankful to have a great public library. It's building core memories for my children.

I never thought a trip to a public library would end with my kids in tears, but congratulations—Batavia Public Library leadership managed to pull it off. In my experience, the vibe was less “welcoming community resource” and more “joyless bureaucracy with a shush button.” The way this place is run feels astonishingly out of touch with families. Kids are kids. They’re curious, they whisper too loudly, they exist. Treating that like a disciplinary offense is a great way to make sure they associate libraries with anxiety instead of learning. And here’s the part that really stings: I pay $58,000 a year in property taxes for this. Fifty-eight. Thousand. Dollars. For what—staff who seem irritated by the very public they’re supposed to serve? If this is the return on investment, I’d like a receip

Batavia Public Library has wonderful selections of books, magazines, movies, music, and an entire floor of kids books, they run activities for people from children to adults, PLUS it has crafting machines like Cricut machines and supplies. They also have rooms you can rent for meetings and functions. Can’t recommend it enough!

Love our library. Great selections, great community outreach, crafts available and 3D printer. Also the librarians are so nice. I also love their librarian- chosen displays those are the best it’s like you’re in an indie bookstore but you don’t have to break the bank!

Very rude staff , love to make kids cry with their made up rules. Karma comes quick
