Bastrop Cafe

Stumbled on this cafe only to find out it’s been here several years! The lovely woman who was working is the owner, which I always think is so nice! Her and her husband just took over the cafe in March. Wonderful experience, super patient, she knows her stuff, she makes everything fresh, just overall a really nice cafe! If you want to stay and enjoy your drink/food there is a beautiful tree covered picnic table area outside, and several different seating options inside (great wifi and lighting). I got the Green Machine (no oj), avocado toast (added egg), and a maple cinnamon oat milk shaken espresso. 5 stars!!! Not hard to get to, take the college street loop off 71 and loop under the bridge. (:

Incredible place to stop. Breakfast sandwiches are perfect. Coffee is delicious (standard 3 espresso shots wow). And the community is inspiring. We stopped here while visiting the state park for breakfast and it was amazing as a breakfast stop + grabbing snacks for the hike. Everything is reasonably priced, service is fast, workers are so nice, and the building is a great idea as a shared space. It has everything you could need and more. Will always be coming back anytime I'm in the area.

This place is cute and has a lot of potential. But whoever now owns Bastrop Cafe is cheaping out on labor. They have 1 girl working both front and back of house. It took 45 minutes+ to get a smoothie, a chai latte, a premade muffin, and a piece of toast. There was a women in the lobby/dining tables when we arrived around 11am waiting for her food. I ordered. About 10 minutes later 6 people walked in all around the same time to order. The poor girl behind the counter was doing her best trying to make stuff and take orders, but she needed help. She was doing food prep, smoothie making, barista, taking orders, and cashier. Whoever is managing or owns this place should be working on the weekends. Great remote worker location option! Plenty of outlets, comfortable seating, quiet ambience. Patio seating. Friendly, welcoming staff. Items are fairly priced and tasty. Clean bathrooms. Enjoyed my experience!
