Barrel Drive In

The food is really good. I especially love the malts/shakes. The prices are reasonable too. Always enjoy coming here. Update: food is still great and prices are still reasonable. I love the old school feel. Always nostalgic going back.

A piece of Americana in a small town. Is the good great? No. Is the facility amazing? No. But the are few places you can go to experience a feel like this. Don't let this place wither away!

Middle of the afternoon in West Union, three other fast food choices with near- empty parking lots were in sight, but things were hopping at the Barrel! Why? Onion rings. Light golden batter, crispy but not so much as to mask the flavor of the onion. I thought a medium order would be enough but we would've gladly eaten twice as much. Yes it's an oldie, but the (tiny) bathroom was super clean, and the half- barrel planters a nice touch. We'll be back to sample the broasted chicken.

I love the barrel so much! It's like walking back in time. The food is so good.If you go you have to get the onion rings they are the best onion rings in the world!

We had a great experience. I grew up on Clear Lake IA and had the Barrel Drive In all the time. It was fun to go and have that experience again now that Clear Lake doesn't have it anymore. Thanks for giving me a bit of my childhood back.
