Banh Mi Zon in Mili Valley is an absolute gem! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, from the crispy, perfectly baked banh mi to the refreshing drinks. The bread is outstanding — freshly baked, perfectly crunchy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The fillings are always fresh, generous, and packed with flavor. The blend of savory meats, rich paté, fresh cilantro, and the perfectly tangy pickled carrots and daikon creates a symphony of textures and tastes that is impossible to beat. It’s a fantastic value for the quality and size you get. Beyond the food, the staff is always quick, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. I really wanted to like this place, but I would only recommend ordering the bánh mì and the milk tea. Those were solid. However, the other items on the menu were disappointing. The beef pho had very little flavor — honestly, instant Top Ramen tastes better. The chicken teriyaki rice bowl was also not good; it was just plain boiled chicken covered in teriyaki sauce, without any seasoning or texture. If you go, stick to the bánh mì and drinks. The rest needs improvement.

For sure, this is a hidden gem! Our experience was great, beginning to end! We were greeted by Luan, the owner, as soon as we entered. He made small talk with us even though they were clearly busy fulfilling orders. He was very friendly and treated us with so much kindness! The overall service was phenomenal! Banh Mi Zon has some of the best banh-mi I've ever had! The bread they make and use for their banh-mi sandwiches is soft, fresh, well-risen, light crumb, and very delicious! If you eat a lot of banh-mi like I do, you know that the quality of the bread can either make or break a sandwich. Here, you won't have to worry. This place has top-notch banh-mi bread!!! Easy to order for pickup and there are few parking spots in front. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately the food was gross and inedible. The rolls were stale and the shrimp was rubbery. The chicken in the Pho was hard as a rock and flavorless. The tofu in the vermicelli was the strangest texture and again, no flavor. Even the rice noodles tasted stale which I didn’t know was possible. Nothing authentic or savory about the food. About as bland and disappointing as it gets.

This might be the least authentic Vietnamese place in town. The Bahn Mi had the wrong bread, and the pork tasted off. The boba milk tea had no flavor, either. It felt watered down. To top off the experience, there is no restroom to wash your hands… I was very disappointed, as I was looking forward to trying this place.
