Bandra Cafe White Rock

Super disappointed after I googled for veg breakfast places and landed up at Bandra cafe, Marine Drive! We ordered chutney sandwich and Pav Bhaji initially and couldn’t order anything else after having a look at those, sandwiches were soggy and stale, too much color and no flavour in Pav Bhaji. We were served in disposable plates and cutleries, plastic cups for water! Big turn off, and the prices were comparable to any fine dining place! I feel bad about giving a bad review, but someone has to share the honest feedback! Sorry state of affairs at this place.

We stopped at Bandra for dinner, looking for fish and chips. Totally surprised....they put their very own spin on this item. Tasty, oh so hot and totally different from every other place that serves fish and chips. The waitress was super friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing, altho the bench seats are a little too narrow, lol. Apparently their tacos are a thing too so guess we'll be back. Also, they are the only gluten free spot on the waterfront strip!

We originally tried to go somewhere else, but it was packed—so we decided to give this place a shot since they had patio seating available. I’ve been wanting to explore more spots along the beach anyway. The menu is an interesting fusion of Indian, Western, and Mexican influences. Our server was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations, which I appreciated. I ordered the Chicken Bandra Buddha Bowl, which was supposed to come with rice, grilled veggies, and guacamole. Unfortunately, it arrived in a small takeout container, which was disappointing given the $19 price tag. The “grilled veggies” consisted of one mushroom and two small pieces of broccoli. Absolutely delicious! 😋 The Vadapav tastes just like Mumbai street food — perfectly spiced and fresh. The Pav Bhaji was rich, buttery, and full of flavor. The chutneys are amazing and add the perfect kick! Great portion size and friendly service too. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Indian street food! 🌶️🍞

We stumbled upon this place by chance, and it turned out to be their opening night! The kitchen was definitely working out some kinks (didn't have all the menu items yet and was a little slow -- about 30 mins), but the food was worth waiting for! It was my first time trying Elco Pani Puri and I was grateful to the server for some instruction. They were FUN! The chicken Tikka was also delicious and the momos were mouthwatering, each with tasty dipping sauces. I had a lime soda -- not too sweet. My one suggestion would be to turn the music down a little.
