Fairly good food. Hot and sour soup appetizer had way too many onions. I had a kung pao chicken with added pork. The pork unfortunately was kind of tough and chewy. Overall flavor was good. Fried rice was a little unusual recipe, kind of bland. I might return. Still a good meal.
Used to go here all the time, haven't gone in a while as got pricey & had other options in town as good at lower cost. Tried again tonight, got cashew chicken carry out. It was good, thought it came with fried rice so was disappointed when got home & just had regular white rice. Got the dinner so it came with crab rangoon, they were good as they have always been. Didn't see wontons on menu but when asked if they still had I asked to add 3 with sauce. Got home, they were okay but NO sauce so another disappointing turn. Food was good, but disappointed on regular rice & no sauce for wontons. Nothing from this wowed me to the point that I'm likely to make them my "go-to' spot for Chinese food like I used too, sure I'll try again at some point but probably later than sooner
Service is amazing. Food is very affordable. Their stir fry dishes are comparative for price. Their sides of fried rice are NOT fried rice. No discernible egg, sesame oil, etc. standard of fried rice. Their sauced and fried products are inconsistent, especially on delivery. Chicken and pork so dry you can’t easily use a fork on it, while also having a soggy / steamed breading texture. You are better off getting sweet/sour, general tso, orange and similar items, or fried rice at Happy Family or Panda.
Great place to get some good Chinese! Definitely one of my go-to spots during lunch. This is a very solid restaurant and I recommend the Hot Chicken (naked)
Bamboo Chinese has been a great place to eat in Pittsburg since the mid-1980’s… would recommend to anyone!
