No doubt, this is the best Vietnamese restaurant in Maine. If you’re craving authentic Bun Bo Hue, look no further—this place delivers it perfectly. The owner and chef, originally from Hue, has mastered this iconic spicy beef noodle soup, capturing all the rich, bold flavors and fragrant lemongrass, tender beef, and perfectly chewy noodles that make Bun Bo Hue so unforgettable. As a Vietnamese person who has explored countless Vietnamese restaurants across New England, I can confidently say this is the real deal. It’s a hidden gem tucked away in Portland, offering not just incredible food but also warm, welcoming hospitality—the owner and his wife make every visit feel personal and special. I can’t wait to come back again and again!

Bamboo Bistro is a must stop for great food as well as excellent service. Phoung is a sweetheart and always enjoying visiting and chatting when we visit. The food is delicious and am never disappointed. My favorites are vermicelli noodle bowl (chicken) and the vegetable pho! So good. It's a pleasure dining with them!

Dinner for two on a Friday eat in. We are both vegan - EASY to understand menu with an entire vegan section so it is very easy to understand what we could order. Casual atmosphere with very friendly wait staff. Food was some of the best food we have ever tasted. Flavors were on point. A hidden gem, especially for vegans in the Westbrook Maine and greater Portland area. Thank you, we will return!

I’m kinda disappointed. I ordered Ramen with chicken. I expected fresh ramen but they use cheap instant noodles instead. (That might cost only less than $3) there’re some chicken pieces and veggies. Service is ok. I’m sad 😔At least, explain in detail what the ingredients are in each dish. I have eaten instant noodles for 20 years I grew up eating it. It’s considered Asian junk food that I like to eat when I was broke because it’s cheap. I didn’t expect that the restaurant would add this to the menu and make it their specialty.

Ahmazing pho 🍜 serene music and relaxing atmosphere, wonderful staff!! 10/10 I eat pho everywhere and this is up there with the best of them!!
