Bala Ice Cream

My family and I come here quite a bit, even though it's out of the way. They have 40 flavors of ice cream, and I haven't been disappoointed yet! They also have boba and shaved ice! The owners here are great! Super friendly! The place is always clean, haven't ever seen a sticky table, even though tons of kids eat here with ice cream. I highly recommend!

I wanted to share my experience visiting “Bala Ice Cream” off hwy 61 north in Dallas. The shop is clean and well lit. Inspection score was excellent. Menu boards were easy to read and everything was priced. My pet peeve is seeing menu items without prices! Staff was super friendly and never rushed us, they even offered samples! They have excellent ice cream, but for me the shaved ice was the real surprise! Not to be confused with Sno-Cones (which they also sell), shaved ice is a frozen flavored milk based mixture. It’s frozen into a large cylinder that’s shaved to order. I had the rainbow version, with several flavors combined. Fluffy ribbons of mild light flavor! It’s topped with your choice (so many options!) of real fruit purée syrup. We are so excited to have this shop right around

Ice cream was mid but I am def grossed out by the multiple visible rat traps around the place. They must have a serious issue to have that many. Won’t be back.

So I got the triple scoop of all coffee ice cream and a large bubble tea. The ice scream was fresh, creamy and low sugar. The bubble tea was made more from the honeydew powder but the consistency was great and the taste awesome. Definitely if your passing thru come get a treat for everyone!!!

The banana split ice cream is a delightful trip down memory lane. The trio of banana, vanilla, and chocolate ice creams is perfectly blended, with the banana flavor coming through without being overly sweet.
