Bajamar Seafood & Tacos

I stopped by **Bajamar Seafood & Tacos** for a quick dine-in snack and to try one of their famous tacos. I needed a short break and was hoping for a light, flavorful meal. Unfortunately, while the service was amazing, that’s where the positives ended. I started with the calamari. It looked beautiful, presented on a bed of cabbage, but the flavor just didn’t match the presentation. The calamari lacked seasoning and wasn’t savory at all. It was good, but definitely not great — and certainly not memorable. Next, I tried the Gobernador Taco, and that was a complete bust. It had no flavor, barely any cheese, and the shrimp was overcooked. For a taco that’s supposed to be a standout, it was incredibly disappointing. Even my Ultra beer was served a little warm. First off, the tacos were the BOMB! The octopus taco was 🤌, so good. Almost perfection. They also have figured out how to cook the taco shells just perfect so that it's strong enough to hold the generous portions, but still be thin and slightly crispy. Toppings were superior, and aiolia sauce, so good. The regular fish taco was also tasty, but not nearly as good as the octopus. Fair warning; octopus is not for everyone. The staff was friendly and pleasant, but something odd happened. After I ate, they never offered the bill. I was sitting at the counter, and they weren't busy, but after 10 minutes of just walking past me, I finally asked for the bill, and that took another 5 minutes. It was weird. The freshest and most delicious lunch I've had in a long time! The Serrano salsa, fire! Calamari was on point! Surf and turf tacos was the highlight! Amazing with the homemade salsa a must! Lastly Shrimp cocktail was ok.

Hidden gem! Fish and shrimp tacos are fantastic, and during happy hour (M-F 3-5pm) they are discounted. Friendly service too! The neighborhood is a little sketchy, so go while the sun is up.

Let me emphasize, this chef is amazing 👏 We ordered 4 items, and we're so impressed we ordered the 5th, most amazing item. Bacon wrapped, smoked tuna stuffed Shrimp. Unbeatable !! I told her she should sell to the casinos for football appetizers. So amazing. This place has unique and chef inspired items. It's a small, unassuming restaurant but deserves a visit. I sincerely hope she can expand and, honestly become famous. Thank you for an outstanding lunch !!!
