Backyard Grill - Pembroke

Music was trash, rap crap that is not for kids ears. Food was okay $43 for 2 burgers that were mid at best. Fries were heavy on the salt. Sweet tea was really sweet, which i enjoyed. Not a very big restaurant, not what it appears to be. More like a dive bar but minus the bar feeling with pretty much burgers to be sold. Great place for blue collar guys taking a lunch break. Beer and a burger before they go back to work, great. For families… no. Have kids…? Hard no. Also they dont respect the second amendment, no conceal or open carry. Horrible…. Service was okay. All in all, mid place with mid food with poor music.

This is a really cool little place located right across from UNC Pembroke. The service was great but the food was on 10!! The chef was cheffin!! She did that!

My daughter and I stopped in for supper this evening. We had recently started dieting and were looking for something low in carbs like a salad but the Hamburger Steak caught our eye. I had it with the mashed potatoes as on the menu and my daughter opted for fries and no gravy on hers. We bought also got string beans with it. Great choice👍🏻 The hamburgers were delicious as well as the potatoes and the string beans were perfect having been cooked directly on the grill. We also got an order to go for my wife and she raved about the string beans. A perfect meal to go along with our diet. Will definately being stopping in again. Our waitress was excellent but I neglected to get her name. A small dark haired girl with 2 nose rings, possibly Indian 🤷🏻‍♂️

On its face it seems like this place was gonna be cheap good sandwiches BUT SIDES ARE NOT INCLUDED. I got duped into ordering fried mushrooms as a side which were a crazy 8 dollar up charge! Only after the bill came in did I find this out. Also ordered The mozz sticks appetizer, which was good but were nothing special, I got 5 of them and a prepackaged marinara - expensive pricing for this item for what you get aswell at 9$ for 5 small sticks. Overall, was expecting a quick fast eat but got duped into an expensive 30$ mediocre meal. Good tasting food but beware the up charges!!!

I had the cranberry pecan salad and my son had the shrimp basket.
