Backhouse Café Coffee & Tea

The Backhouse is worth the visit for the atmosphere alone. The restored Victorian feels like a museum- very intentionally refurbished. The owners love their coffee and serve it well. I would be there TOO often if I was a local… June gave my friend and I a little tour of the shop and some of its historical features. I hope to be back soon.

Just WOW. I was completely blown away by this classy but welcoming coffee shop. I absolutely loved the old Victorian building it is in, and we really enjoyed the spread out seating in different rooms. You can chill on a couch with a friend, curl up in a corner, or use a table if you’d like. There were also tables and chairs out on the lawn. The menu all sounded fantastic, and they also had some tasty looking baked goods. The barista was super friendly, as well as efficient! I wanted to try a signature drink but just went with a basic iced vanilla latte. The espresso was some of the best I’ve ever had! It was a tad on the sweeter side to me, but I still enjoyed every bit of it! I really can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely stunning café. The atmosphere in here is wonderful. I love the style of the building and the way it was kept. It’s the most beautiful coffee shop I’ve ever seen, hands down. The coffee itself was pretty good. My wife got an iced oat milk latte which was good. My iced latte with whole milk was alright, but not excellent. Oh, the bathrooms were so nice I’d literally be fine drinking my coffee in there.

This place has amazing staff. Excellent coffee and good baked goods. Make sure you get their quiche on the weekend. I love this place. It's hard to find other shops that make their beverages as good.

What a gorgeous Victorian home-turned-cafe! We enjoyed sitting on the couch by the fireplace, getting some work done while sipping on “The Rachel,” a rich flavored latte. The bacon gouda and broccoli mini quiches were great too.
