B2J Tasty Pot Allston 不二家酸菜鱼 Allston

This is my third time coming to B2J, and the food has never let me down. I especially like the soup in the sour fish and the free mochi they give you if you write a review about their restaurant, which is very nice. The dining experience was awesome, it’s a small and cozy place, perfect for friends and family to chill, chat, and enjoy delicious food. My girlfriend and I ordered the two-person combo meal. The portion was very big, and it kept us full. What’s also nice is that the tip is calculated before tax, not after tax, which surprised me because many restaurants don’t do that. If you are trying sour cabbage fish for the first time, this is a great place to come.

SO delicious!!! The broth (we got classic spicy sour) was incredible, and the beef and fish were perfect in every way. Really addictive pickles veggies, and the milk mochi was a table favorite too. All of the staff were really sweet and helpful!!

The only thing that stopped us from trying this place out was the price, and after eating here, it's still very pricey. The food was actually really good, we got the combo for 2 that comes with 1lb bowl + 2 sides + 2 add-ons + 2 rice. The portion was really big, we got the sauerkraut flavor with fish and beef, and it was very flavorful. The fish was delicious and the beef was incredibly tender, almost melted in our mouth. Service was good, atmosphere was good. However we would not rate this a 5 purely because of the price. It ended up with 41 dollars per person (including tips + taxes), which we found to be way too overpriced. I understand the portion is big and the food is fresh, but 40 bucks per person is still very pricey. If the price is lower, we could see ourselves coming back to

The fish pot was very large and the broth had a subtle but tasteful allure. It transformed over the course of the meal, developing stronger and creating new sensations. The sides were large and flavorful. Would absolutely recommend this for a succulent Chinese meal with friends. The service was especially wonderful, the employees are very kind and attentive.

Very delicious Suan Cai Fish! The broth was rich and fragrant with just the right level of sourness from the pickled mustard greens. The fish slices were incredibly tender and fresh, absorbing all the flavors without being too oily. The balance of sour, spicy, and savory made every bite addictive. It’s definitely one of the best Suan Cai Fish dishes I’ve had — absolutely worth ordering again!
