Azul Tequila Grill and Bar

The rumors are true: the portions here are huge! I love that they have a lot of variety, making it easy to find great options even if you don't eat meat. The service was incredible—super friendly staff and very fast. ​I’m giving it 4 stars only because the salsa served with the chips tasted a bit too much like pizza sauce for my liking. However, the beans that came with my meal were extremely tasty (the highlight of the plate!), and the rest of the food was great. I highly recommend checking them out!

Food was good, large portions! Staff was super friendly and service was fast. Ordered the small size margaritas and got the larger sized-and also charged the larger size. Asked about a hot salsa, which then arrived and then later charged for that as well. There maybe should have been a mention “yes we have hot salsa and it costs this much” and let us decide if we want to then order it. All in all, great little place that we will visit again.

Azul’s caldo de pollo/chicken soup is tremendous. In my world, the healthy option is rarely a good choice, but this soup is ten out of ten! It consists of fresh carrots, zucchini, potatoes and cauliflower in a savory broth along with rice and chicken, then topped with avocados and cilantro. The bowl was big and I finished every drop. Every bit as good, are their margaritas. I’m not sure how they make them so tasty, but they are head and shoulders above any others in our three county area!

We found the food to be a bit bland, including the queso. The mini quesadilla I tried didn’t have a very good tortilla/cheese/meat ratio, the burrito was too salty, and the chile relleno was a bit dry. On the other hand, the rice that came with the dish was tasty, the service was pretty good, and the portions are quite large!

Tried Azul Tequila for dinner this week on recommendation and I must say they are the best Mexican restaurant in a 30 mile radius. Staff are authentic folk! Food was good, I had the ‘Cowboy Steak’ which stated it was Rib Eye but not sure this was what got plates. Asked for a ‘16oz Margarita but the 22oz was billed. Asked for some Spicy Pico as they provided a complimentary one as a appetiser and discovered we were billed for it, no issues but it would have been nice to know there was a charge. Dessert was their ‘Flan’ which I’m almost certain was freshly made. Overall a great experience and we will go back.
