¡Ay Güey! Cafe & Cocina Mexicana

This place did a great job with authentic Mexican food that felt thoughtfully made and well cared for. Everything came out looking great and genuinely authentic, and the quality did not disappoint. The quesadillas were nicely toasted with a perfect balance of crisp and soft. While the plating was a bit simple, that’s not uncommon for Mexican street food, and the filling was rich and flavorful. The tacos were fresh, generously topped, and well put together; nothing sloppy, just solid, well-executed food. The guacamole was simple, visibly very fresh, and creamy, served the traditional way with crunchy chips. Overall, the food feels genuine, high quality, and made with pride. You can tell real attention is paid to both flavor and preparation. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

This restaurant clearly cares about its craft. I would give 6 stars if I could.Everything was really well done, even the free red sauce and tortilla chips as the complimentary appetizer was so freakin’ good. The appetizer was a cut above any other chips and salsa I’ve had. I got the shrimp hauraches. Absolutely delicious. The shrimp was well done, the black beans were within the maize. My friend got the dulce de leche crepe dessert was also amazing.

I came here for the first time yesterday and was super excited to check this place out. I had heard good things and so I ordered a chicken burrito. The first several bites were great until I bit down on something really hard. To my surprise, I pulled a big piece of blue plastic out of my mouth. I get that mistakes happen, but this is TOTALLY unacceptable. I would imagine there were several other smaller pieces of plastic that I ultimately consumed. I hate to leave a bad review, but the very real consequences of what could have happened as a result of this mistake are too severe to not let the restaurant themselves as well as the public know.

Everything was perfect! They gave complementary snacks in the beginning. The chicken plate was just so flavorful and each part of plate was seasoned perfectly! The veggie tacos were a really good options for those who can’t eat meat. They tasted amazing! The servers were also really nice and explained everything nicely. There was about 5-6 tables to sit at!

The flavors were some of the best I’ve ever had from any Mexican restaurant. I got the AL Pastor Burrito and the homemade chips were amazing! I also tried the Merengue flavored Soda, if you love sweet then definitely give this one a try!
