Customer Reviews
It felt warm and grand like a fireplace. We came after a roller derby bout, and they hosted our after party. Incredible service, lots of incredible games in the back including the titular ax throwing. Additionally, the tap and drink selection is phenomenal, and the food selection is great. They were willing to change things to make them more vegetarian friendly, I ended up opting for the chips and salsa. Practically everyone else, all my carnivore and omnivore friends they seem to get a lot of incredible food for a great value. Has a small stage, a selection of board games, and everything you'd really want for a nice time with friends in a place that cares that you have that nice time.
Wow!!! is all I can say about this establishment.. What a Hidden Gem in Bristol.. We were hosting an event in town, I wanted to go get something to eat that felt like Bristol. Well I found it, they had a good selection of food and beverages on their menu. I got the half order of nachos and it was exactly what I expected it to be delicious and filling. I got to meet the owner and had a wonderful conversation with him about how he built his bar completely by his own hands it took him over a year. How he absolutely loves serving his community and all of his guests. His staff was nothing but helpful and respectful. It was a warm and inviting environment, the food was excellent pricing on point. I want to thank you again for the wonderful conversation the great atmosphere and a great lunch. I w
We have been to Bristol many times but just ate here today for the first time at the reccomendation of another bar. The axe throwing / bar and eating area is hidden away - I had no idea it was there. If you want good food, friendly staff, very clean and nice restrooms, wide beer selection, this might need to be your new regular stop. Appears that management and staff really take pride in running this place. My only comment on the food would be to maybe offer extra sauce and/or spicy sauce options. We enjoyed the green beans, the baked potato, and the potato salad. Pot roast was like homemade. We definitely will be back. Axe throwing looked fun!
On a random road trip from NY and decided to stop in Bristol, VA for dinner. Found the Axe and Ale House and will tell you the food was amazing. Cuban sandwich, the smoked pork was phenomenal and I had the chicken nachos, with smoked and juicy chicken. The service was awesome and our bartender Dominick was attentive, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to chat with. Even the local regulars were a delight, place felt like home. Highly recommend! (Picture of nachos is after I ate about half, serving size was plentiful and flavor delicious!)
Showed up on a Sunday to meet up with some family. The entire time we were there the staff was friendly and accommodating. The food, however, was a major disappointment. I got a Hillbilly Dip Sandwich, which was a couple of scoops of cold, dry, shredded pot roast on a bun with provolone cheese, it was a $15 sandwich and it was a disappointment. We also ordered a $13 salad, $12 chicken and waffles, $15 meatloaf and $15 wings, and no one had anything positive to say about the food above "meh". For the $ they are charging, I would expect something a step above Burger King, not below it. If management reads this, please do a Gordon Ramsey deep dive and get super critical of what your kitchen is turning out. Think of ways to make your food better and more appealing. I did have a minor i
