Avenue Bread - Lynden

I do love a bakery restaurant - the vibe is great. This particular visit had me finding my sandwich lacking meat and some of the serving folk forgetting to bring our whole order and asking us to prove we ordered it felt awkward. But - I’m still coming back…

Excellent lattes, super kind people, delicious food! Sourdough was better than San Francisco! Sausage very healthy and herby, granola was delicious and hash browns were the best I’ve ever had! Their hamburgers are superb!!!

I love this place! By far the best of their locations. The sandwiches are great and their burger and French dip are amazing! There’s something about this place compared to their other location that makes me drive 15 min to come here. It has tall ceiling and very open! If you are wanting to come here and have a great bite to eat or come and enjoy a cup of coffee and do some work, this is the spot in Lynden!

This was mine and my boyfriend’s first experience at Avenue Bread. When we got to the counter, the woman taking our order tried to rush us along after every little thing that we said we would like. We got the poppyseed scone to wait for our food to arrive. The scone was really dry, so order a drink with it. I coughed a few times eating it. Then our food came.. I got the BLAT, which they put barely any of the ingredients on there. The bacon was super over cooked and the bread was so crunchy it was not edible in many places. My boyfriend got the All American burger. It looked like they had squished the burger down, removing all flavor. To have to go through all of this and buss our own tables, I can gladly say this was a one and done experience.

It’s Lynden. Horrible customer service. Missing whole sides in order on takeout and refused to offer any sort of refund. Credit card just ended up refunding whole amount. But Avenue could have just refunded sides. Make it make sense. This was a few years ago and we’ve never been back and won’t go back.
