Have been coming here for years, big delicious slices, gluten free options, rad pinball machines and had My Cousin Vinnie playing on. Saturday night.
I was staying in the Woodstock neighborhood visiting and looking for a pizza joint to check out. Atlas Pizza serves up New York style pizza perfection. The slices are huge, the sauce is perfect, plenty of pepperoni and cheese. I was very pleasantly surprised how good the pizza is. The atmosphere of the location is definitely lo-fi and punk rockish, like your favorite dive bar but in a good way, definitely screams Portland! That being said, I definitely will have Atlas Pizza again when I'm in Portland next time and will be spreading the word.
This place is the pizza place I was looking for. It takes me back to a simple time, around 2014 when it was founded and I also happened to work at a pizza place with the same feeling. A fun, devil may care kind of vibe filled with musical people playing great music. Creative NY slices at reasonable prices is awesome marinara and pesto that turns the crust into the thing you look forward to most. It is a cozy and feels time tested. This has been one of my absolute favorite finds since moving here
Pizza was REALLY good… best I’ve had in the area, in fact. Great crust, straightforward simplicity to the taste and presentation of their toppings gave it a slightly bougie but authentic-like New York style feel… punk music blasting pretty loudly was maybe a touch too much for my young family, but we all dug the vibe being a bit edgy. Friendly service staff, accommodated us near their closing time with no begrudging, and my kiddos had fun with the retro video games (tabletop Ms. PacMan!!) and pinball. Limited beer options were enough and pretty good too and it looked like they had a fun special that I’d try if it was just my wifey and I (PBJ: Slice, Beer, Shot of Jameson) for $12! Pies were big too- my kids loved having pizza for breakfast this morning! ❤️🙏🏻Definitely made a fan outt
Overall great service and atmosphere. Sauce is EXTREMELY garlic-y. Probably too much garlic to be honest, and that's maybe the first time I've ever had to think that so you know it's a problem. As a result there's very little sauce on the actual pizza (since they probably know how overpowering it is). Pizza had a very oil-y acrid smell unfortunately too. Not sure if I'll be returning. Might not be for me but I'd recommend checking the place out.
