Athenian Fresh Grill

Finally had the chance to try this spot in Kearny. It's difficult to find a decent and affordable spot for Mediterranean food but this one hit the spot! We ordered the beef and lamb gyro and the falafel gyro. Do not skip the hot sauce they provide!! It goes so well with the dishes. The portions were amazing; the pitas came with other toppings beside the main protein. The service is quick and friendly- the workers were chill and gave us time to decide since it was our first time. The place is cozy and nicely decorated. Everything is labeled and sauces/utensils are accessible to customers. I'd definitely go back and try the other dishes in this menu

Really good food. Lost one ☆ because the tabbouleh was very bland, actually, disappointed. The chicken pita dish was great; fries & hummus, tsiki sauce & their specialty (garlic) sauce were all good. The ingredients were displayed & properly labeled for convenience & boy, were they fresh! Tabbouleh missed the flavor boat for me, not enough feta goodness! Service & atmosphere, 5☆ Would recommend & return. Constructive crit only, guys!

As I sit down to eat Athenian fresh for the third night in a row I figured they’ve earned a review. Lol. Delicious, fresh food. Consistent. Staff is always friendly, helpful and patient. Food is so good and even found out they import their deserts from Greece. Definitely get the orange pie!!! Happy this place is nearby. Will continue ordering out and dining in.

Update: please have all of your workers wear gloves before handling food. My fiance goes to pickup often and the last time he went he noticed someone touching the food and other things w their bare hands. Someone else waiting noticed the same, refused the order and walked out! food still tastes good but I'm more hesitant to order now. We order delivery/pickup. The food is very good and fresh! One of the only restaurants I can order from multiple days in a row.

Got a falafel bowl w rice, mixed greens, tomato’s, cucumbers, onions, feta ch, spicy potato’s, tabouli, and the spicy sauce . Everything was so good, filling, and felt like a well balance meal that I came back the next day. Glad I found a new spot near me . Will obv be coming back. I tried the pumpkin spice smoothie, it’s dairy free , but that taste was a bit off for me , tasted minty and has a weird after taste. Won’t get that again but I’ll def be coming back for the bowl . Staff are v friendly and attentive both times I came to eat . Clean space, lots of food & drink options . Like that u can customize ur meal. Vegan friendly options as well.
