Athena Greek & Lebanese Grill

Over the past few years, Athena has been one of my family’s go-to spots for Greek food. Unfortunately, the quality and value have noticeably declined. Over the last 3–4 visits in the past few months, the portion sizes have become significantly smaller. The combination plates, which used to be generous and filling, are now packed with excess lettuce while the meat portions have been cut back dramatically. The gyro sandwiches have also changed from hearty, well-stuffed wraps to tiny sandwiches with barely any meat inside. It’s disappointing to see a place that once offered great value and quality become so cheap with its portions. Good food, good service, good value. Solo dinner on a business trip to Shreveport. Had the gyro plate; it was all good, meat, rice, pitas, nice-sized salad.

Every food item we ordered was SOOOOOO DELICIOUS AND AMAZING that we ordered extra meals to take back to our hotel to have for lunch the next day! Also, this was our first time ever having Lebanese Iced Tea (with rose water) and if you don't go here and get some YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!! Where has this been all my life???? It's so, soooooo delicious! Gyro pasta is amazing--next time I will ask for extra sauce because the pasta absorbs all of it when you save some for later. Their baba ganoush (sp?) is deliciously smokey and their pillowy-light pita bread is made fresh. The house salad dressing is amazing-- tastes like it might have a splash of rose water in that also-you'll love it! We took my mother here for her birthday. This place is hands down the best in Shreveport/Bossier. Flakey Spinach pies. Savory fried cheese. Fresh creamy hummus with hot pita bread The best Falafel I have ever eaten. The Baklava was dripping with honey. So good!

Excellent service by a wonderful lady named Honor!!!! Absolutely Delicious food!!! The manager/owner was wonderful & helpful. The hostess was very accommodating, we had a large group without reservations, but she was able to seat us. Half of our group wasn't familiar with Mediterranean food, but they were all very pleased. We were there celebrating a birthday and the staff went out of their way to make sure the evening was special. We are so grateful that we found this restaurant & will definitely return in the future.
