Atascadero Library

Ms. Sally is hands down the best children’s librarian in the county! Her story time is varied and engaging. She sets clear expectations of the children and parents in a kind way. My kids are always asking her for book recommendations and she is happy to help. She also runs a theatre camp that is AMAZING!

This place sucks. we came to this library with 5 friends in 10/29/25. We were not making any noise then this employee in her late 60s says Ok off the computers. I don't know what we did wrong we were all quiet but whispering a little. Then she complains that we make noise. My friend got a little bit rude to the librarian and says Your other emoloyee told me if we get kicked out from the computers we can go to the kids area. Then she proceeds to go up to the desk with my friend and we all got kicked out. Do better atascadero library in very extremely disappointed if i could give 0 i would.

One of the better 000 sections I've found in a small town. (Thats where the books about bigfoot and ufos and stuff are)

I think it's a very pretty building inside and out. It feels very peaceful inside, very comfortable like you could find your own quiet corner and settle down and read. They have nice private rooms with doors and windows that you can study in with privacy and a group I belong in. We use a room upstairs monthly, and it's always been clean and separately private. They also have an elevator and stairs. All the employees are very nice and very helpful. They have a big number of books, videos, music, tapes, CDs, and movies. I'm grateful to have such a nice library in town to have to be able to use.
