Asahi Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar

It’s disappointing to have to leave such a bad review of one of our families usual go-to spots. The food here is decent for the area, we’ve always enjoyed our dishes and sushi. But it feels like over the last 12-18 months the service has just tanked. We probably go at a min once a month, but the last 3 visits have all gone the same way. We get sat and then it’s 5-10min of being ignored, not so much as a “Hey we’re running behind we’ll get to you eventually” just nothing, no drink order no acknowledgment that we are even there. Tonight was the last time we’ll be ignored, we ended up getting up and walking out after being walked by several times with zero interaction. Best of luck, but with the cost of going out these days it’s not worth dealing with bad service.

Sushi was good. Staff was very welcoming!

It's ok. Fish is mediocre, rice is sub-par. Edamame was cold. Ginger was that super cheap dyed stuff. Albacore was not really albacore 🤦 Miso was good, salmon was decent. We live across the street and probably won't go back. Three stars because they're nice people. Decent pricing.

I really liked the intimate and peaceful atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly. The food tasted great, although the White Sauce looked and tasted questionable. This might have been only tonight and worth another try.

We had great expectations for this place due to the reviews. From the start it was overly warm inside. We ordered soup and salad to start. They were good especially for the price. We then ordered a Mexican roll, volcano roll, and spider roll. The Mexican roll was flavorless and chewy. Didn't taste fresh at all. Volcano roll was over baked and chewy. The crab didn't taste good at all. The spider roll was horrible. The crab was as chewy as an over fried oyster. Never again.
