ArigatoBato hibachi Japanese grill

This is a sit down place, but you have to order at the counter and pay ahead. Their menu is simple and you can do combos to share between 2 people for $50+, or simple orders. Note: They can get a little busy during dinner time and there’s only one server who goes in and out through the back to the kitchen and then back to the front. So be patient if you are ordering and they’re not at the counter. Staff in server lady was friendly and very helpful since it was our first time there and ordering. Between the two of us we ordered the combo plate that had the chicken, beef, shrimp with vegetables and then we upgraded and paid extra for fried rice. The fried rice was tasty, but very oily! Really enjoyed how easy and casual the experience was. They serve hibachi-style food without the chef cooking in front of you, which makes it perfect when you just want to sit down and enjoy your meal without the whole show. The flavors were great and everything came out hot and satisfying. Such a solid spot for a no-fuss hibachi-style meal.

The food here is not Japanese at all. It's of unknown origin, and it's the worst food I've ever had. I'll never go back.

The food is good. Slightly over priced. Most hanachi places include the fried rice with the meal, they up charge $3. Most places give you 2oz cups, at least 2 of the garlic butter with your food. They use 1oz cups and only give you one. The soup is slightly too salty but otherwise good. They charge extra for vegetables that other places include for free. You're better off price wise going to the bachi Express food truck in North Long Beach. If they don't change their price structure they won't be around because they charge like they're Benihana and you mind as well go to Benihana for the same cost.
