Ariake Japanese Restaurant

Our party of six went to Ariake Japanese Restaurant in Reston for dinner on Monday night. Although the restaurant isn’t very large and was quite busy, we were seated within 10 minutes. Our waitress, Cindy, was friendly and attentive. We ordered the sushi regular, à la carte items (nigiri and rolls), stir-fried udon noodles, and katsu curry. The sushi was fresh and delicious, especially the toro salmon sushi, which was tender and flavorful. We also enjoyed the udon noodles and the katsu curry. I thought we ordered too much but we ended up finishing everything. Highly recommend this place!

I was born in Japan in October many moons ago! This year we went to Washington DC for my 3 day birthday trip, and I was hoping to eat at a Japanese restaurant, but not one in a shopping center or storefront. On the way to Dulles Airport we stopped in at the most quaint and authentic japanese looking atmosphere restaurant! It was so amazing!!! I was happy to get my favorite Sapporo Beer and the best hot sake I ever tasted! As I looked around the restaurant I noticed so many japanese customers! The food was so delicious and reasonably priced! I highly recommend this restaurant! The service was spectacular and so curtious! This was a real BIRTHDAY treat!

Excellent Japanese restaurant which located a very quiet, beautiful place. I visited the restaurants in both Fairfax and Reston, I prefer the latter. I ordered three different types of sushi’s: Toro power sushi, salmon skin sushi, and shrimp tempura sushi (all them are come with 8pcs), Tonkotsu Ramen, as well as Una Don. The Ramen is awesome: soup, egg, pork chashu, everything is perfect. The sushi also got unique flavor, my favorite one is the tempura sushi. Una Don it’s not the best one I’ve been tasted. The environment of Fairfax one is noisier than Reston, the staff are friendly and react quickly. The one in Fairfax has limited parking lot, so be sure to come early. Will come back in the future!

Always get the French kiss roll. It is not on the list, but if you know you know, and you can write it on top of the little ordering sheet that they give you they also have a good eggplant appetizer as well as very lightly fried tempura. The toro had a good rice to fish ratio as well. I mainly come here just for the specialty rolls since in my opinion that is what they specialize in but they have something for everyone. Nice stuff relatively quick service, but you do want to make a reservation because it gets very full very quickly even on weekday nights

First time in the Reston area and wanted to find out if Reston had Japanese/sushi game. Happy to report that Ariake passed my test with flying colors!! Ariake has a pretty extensive menu besides sushi. They offer Japanese favorites like tempura, teriyaki, katsu, and even donburi. Wifey ordered the fried oyster appetizer and Assorted Sashimi (15 pcs of sashimi) and I ordered the chicken katsu curry. We also added a few nigiri pieces: hamachi belly, unagi, and hotate (scallop). All of the nigiri and sashimi pieces were very fresh as the pictures can attest. It helped that this restaurant is quite busy, even on a Wednesday night, providing a quick turnover of sushi orders.
