Antojitos y Pupuseria Armida

Quaint little spot behind McDonald’s, right off the freeway with great pupusa, yucca, and some of the best beans I’ve had. Seriously, if you know anything about bean quality, this place hits all the checkmarks. It’s the red bean blended kind, like what all refried beans should taste like but don’t IKYK. The drink selection is also so good!! We got the maracuya (guava) drink 10/10 Highly recommend if ur looking for a quick stop.

I cannot imagine a better place to stop off for breakfast, lunch, or recharge any time between LA and the Central Valley! Delicious and generous portions of authentic Salvadoran pupusas and other treats, served with kind attention. Shaded outdoor seating area is very pleasant. No other facilities but McDonald's is right next door if you need a clean bathroom.

The pupusas are perfectly cooked, stuffed generously, and paired with that delicious curtido and salsa that bring it all together. And let’s talk about the aguas frescas — seriously some of the BEST around. Ice-cold, refreshing, and packed with real fruit flavor. They’re the perfect match for the savory food. After 11 hours of driving, we were stuck on the freeway and happened upon this place. The food was excellent, fresh and made to order and the customer service was exceptional. I have dietary restrictions and the owner went through all of the ingredients with me to make sure it was safe then happily chatted with us while we waited for our food to be ready. This will be a new stop on our road trips even when the freeway isn’t shut down! Highly recommend

7/23/25: Had 3 aguas frescas: the maranon (a bit too much sugar), arragan, and the nance. All were really good, maybe the nance being the best. Also that the empanadas (one plantains and beans, and another sweet cream). Good but I wouldn't get again, too much sugar after already having the aguas frescas. Finally also had the Revuelta (very good)and the Loca (wouldn't get again because I didn't like the sour taste).
