Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza & Wings

We visited Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza for the first time on Saturday around 8 PM for a quick bite, and the experience was genuinely upsetting. We were not greeted when we walked in and had to seat ourselves. After sitting down, we waited about five minutes with no water and no menus until I asked for them. Only then did someone acknowledge us. Basic hospitality should not require prompting. We ordered the artichoke dip and the baked ziti, which was recommended by our waitress. The baked ziti was frankly unacceptable. It tasted like microwaved cafeteria food, unevenly heated, lacking freshness, and made with very poor-quality vegetables. My wife and use to love going here for salad and wings but over the last three times the wing and bread are over cooked (burned) and dried out even when asked not to over cook them. Anyway, clean restaurant with good service in a good neighborhood with plenty of free parking.

In the week leading up to the event, I was extremely busy, and my mother coordinated directly with the manager — to the point where he even gave her his personal cellphone number so she could text with any questions. That level of accessibility and care alone spoke volumes. On the day of the party, the staff had multiple tables set up perfectly to accommodate our group of over 30 people. Our waitress was an absolute rockstar — she handled separate drink tabs effortlessly, kept everything moving smoothly, and made sure no one was ever waiting too long. Had an excellent lunch here (Carle Place Long Island location) the roasted wings were meaty and seasoned nicely, I expected it to be spicy but was not, which was ok with me. Now for the pizza, we had half meatball half sausage pie. The sauce was really good, cheese was excellent in taste and consistency and of course with brick oven pizza a nice crust. Special shout out to our waitress Abby, she made us feel welcomed, she was attentive and very kind and personable she made our experience that much better. We will be back soon.

I've been before-- and continually return for the cauliflower pizza. However, the abundance of cayenne pepper (?) nearly took me out! But... it was good. Thank goodness the chicken wings are still top notch!
