Ann's Bistro

I had been to Ann's Bistro once before with the hubby and remembered liking it. This time I went with 2 friends. Abby our host/owner was lovely. The restaurant feels cozy & inviting with wood paneling and bookshelves. We ordered 2 cocktails and a mocktail, guava bourbon smash, tangerine mezcal margarita & guava sunshine fizz, the concoctions were perfectly balanced & got us off to a nice start. There is a small but well selected mostly European wine list. The menu was eclectic & appetizing making it hard to chose. We ordered salad, lamb ragu, linguine carbonara & carne asada (grilled beef w/ rice & beans + side salad that came with it). Dessert was a chocolate lava cake w/ pomegranate seeds. Our first visit and it was wonderful! We had red snapper fish tacos for appetizers and the flavors were fantastic! We also had a salad and pork, both delicious. Nice non-alcoholic beer as well.

Amazing find. Damariscotta downtown was too crowded so we ended up at Ann's for a 50th birthday celebration. We literally got one of everything so I can say without reservation that you can't go wrong with whatever you order. Atmosphere is great and the staff incredibly friendly. We will definitely be back for a date night. We did have kids with us and had varying degrees of success getting them to eat. Families should be aware there's no kids menu so it might not be the best match for picky eaters, but everyone made my kids feel welcome and they did great. Thanks all for a memorable evening!

Amazing cuisine such attention to detail! Excellent customer service our server was fabulous she was such a sweetheart! Ambiance and music was great. My husband and I were in town for a few days and so happy we chose to dine at Ann’s Book Bistro!! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for delicious food and fabulous dining experience!

Wow! Abigail, what outstanding service and equally excellent food! I ordered to-go as I was on a long trip for work and those fish tacos are the best in our great state of Maine! And the service was spectacular! This place is obviously in the best hands possible! Thanks so much, what a delightful experience all the way around!!!!!!
