We went for lunch around 12:30 on Sunday. We had the vegetarian pasta and the fried chicken with French toast. Both were good. We were nearing the end of our meal, but clearly still had food on our plates, when a waitress came up and asked to remove our plates. We still our forks in our hands and were clearly eating. We said no. Literally, a minute later, our waiter came up and asked to remove our plates - we were still eating. I had to insist that he let us finish our meal. He didn’t leave right away. I told him very pointedly „go away.“ It was surreal. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Half the tables were empty. I would be hesitant about going there again - it’s not worth the hassle.

I have been beyond impressed with this hidden gem of Newburgh multiple times. An Artistic Taste offers a clean, welcoming space of warm ambiance and good vibes only. The Chef’s passion and love for his craft resonates in the dishes he prepares… his food provides story to the willing pallet… he prepares his dishes embodied with authentic Jamaican flavors. By his food providing story, I mean that in his food, you taste memory of recipes shared from ancestors, you taste the pride of his elders sharing their love for food with him. You taste his ancestor’s hearts smiling as he proudly lifts a spoon to their aging mouths offering a taste of his first dish. The service staff is impeccable as well! Well done chef & service staff…

This might be one of the best/most memorable places I’ve been to in a LONG time. we came up to newburgh for a weekend trip and was recommended this place by some locals. needless to say, we came 2 times over 2 days. our waitress, Diane, was incredible and gave us impeccable recommendations. Everything was cooked perfectly and the combination of flavors made it feel like we were eating at a Michelin star restaurant. Please open a location on nyc🙏🏼

This restaurant has so much potential. I’m hopeful it will find its stride once the newness has settled down. I came for happy hour and loved the Jamaican take on the pulled pork taco. It was flavorful and balanced. The plantains were ok, but I don’t think they needed the goat cheese crumbles. It made the dish feel overly decadent when fried plantains are already dense and sweet. The Brussels had a lot going on – grapes, some kind of syrup. Not my favorite, but others may love them. Overall, I am anticipating another visit to try out the mains.

We always want to support new establishments so we gave this one a try. I’m probably a bit tougher with my review because I don’t know how else to help them improve. First off, we sat at the bar. Menus arrived right away. But! It took forever to get a drink order in, even longer for the drinks to arrive, and I’m sorry but we should not have had to ask if we could place our food order, isn’t that what the staffs job is? Once the food order was placed, the food wait was not long, so the problem was not in the kitchen. We ordered prawns, dumplings, wings and Parmesan fries. The prawns were good, but I would have liked more heat. The dumplings ac bit salty but I liked them. The wings arrive under a glass dome filled with smoke. They were really heavy on the hot sauce, which really wasn’t
