Customer Reviews
We love trying new places during restaurant week so we made a reservation for a Wednesday night. Upon walking in, we were impressed by the beautifully decorated dining room. Unfortunately things kind of went downhill from there. We were greeted by someone who already looked annoyed that we were there. We figured it had been a busy night so we let it pass. We were seated quickly and our order was taken within 5 minutes. While we waited for our appetizers, we were served table bread. It was soft on the inside with a beautiful crunch on the outside, drizzled with some olive oil and sprinkled with herbs. Our appetizers came out rather quickly, which was a nice surprise. We tried the Arancini and the Meatballs. Both were delicious choices. We looked forward to our entrees. 30 minutes passed.
There has been a lot of chatter about this new Italian restaurant where Pernicano's used to be so we went here for dinner on a Sunday night to check it out. They've done a great job with the decor. It wasn't busy and we were seated right away. Orders were taken but the food did take awhile to come out. I'm glad they gave us delicious complimentary bread. The artichoke appetizer dish had way too much lemon and that was all I could taste. Very sour and salty so it was a disappointment and I wouldn't recommend. A couple of our pastas were cold while others were still warm. But they were all delicious. The chicken parmigiana dish was a good size.
We tried this new place with my parents in law, and my mother in law has Italian blood! They were so happy about this meal and said probably is one of the best they tried in these couple of years. We had a cheese wheel Gnocchi, it is wow, so flavorful, the gnocchi cooked perfectly. We also had a cacio e Pepe, which is a little different than we had in other places, which was more creamy. We loved it. Other than that, we had a carpaccio, a blue cheese salad, meatball and complimentary breads. All of those are good, we don’t have any negative feedback about here’s food. The service was not bad either. We tried a bottle of wine (Chianti) and Sicilian spritz, my hubby and I ended to order one more spritz for each one and parent ordered more wine… it was so delicious. Also our baby had a great
Fantastic experience in Mira Mesa. Super cool Italian restaurant. Nino, one of the owners, took great care of us, recommending delicious dishes. We tried the Roman-style artichokes and I must say the dressing that accompanied them was truly superb. The crispy burrata with marinara sauce was amazing. And finally, I really enjoyed the agnolotti stuffed with mushrooms and mushroom sauce with walnuts on top. Highly recommended. We will be back!
Italian quality, affordability, and local taste that can't be found elsewhere outside of little Italy. Amuri is a restaurant opened by friends who moved from Italy (I believe Sicily) and provides amazing atmosphere and dishes that don't skip on portions and ingredients. Restaurant is large and beautiful, unspectingly located infront of a gas station. I ordered the agnolotti with guanciale (not commonly found in San Diego but a staple in Italian food)!). We also had the Amuri pizza, and Goncchi. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend for those living in the Mira Mesa and Scripps Poway area.
