Ames Public Library

Clean, small, quiet public library with all the essentials you need in a local library. There’s a few study rooms, computers, printers, etc. Very helpful, friendly staff always willing to assist you. Plenty of cool programs for children too.

My daughter attends Iowa State University in Ames. I live about an hour away in a small, rural town in Iowa. While we have a library in our town, it is very small and has a very limited selection of books. When my daughter got a library card at the Ames Public Library, it gave me the idea of getting one myself. They have a very good selection of books, and I am always able to find something I want to read. Now, when visiting my daughter, I also visit the Ames Public Library to return my current book and get a new book. The library itself is very modern and well organized. It is quiet and the staff are friendly (they have always been willing to help me check out, even though there is a self-service checkout station).

This Library has clean and beautiful environment, rich collection of books, friendly and kind librarians, and also held learning parties for 3 kinds of languages, reading sessions, movies, handicraft gatherings; This is a multifunctional library.

One of the better libraries in then area. You can get a library card the use it to access online books for easy checkout.

If you are an ISU student you definitely need to come check out the public library! Even as an out of state student it is super easy to get a library card, and it's just a really nice place to study. Comfortable seating, pretty quiet, even a couple study rooms in the back. Way less crowded than Parks, even during finals. Definitely recommend :)
