Amenia Free Library

A town with one traffic light thought it necessary to bilk taxpayers for additional funding towards this library’s recent renovation. Amenia FREE Library, indeed! Nice joint nonetheless, with sensored water fountains, gender-undistinguished bathrooms and a public reading area for the kiddos. Friendly staff. Thorough landscaping and benches out front..

Offers a surprisingly wide selection given the library’s small size. The librarian Erica is very nice and hosts story time for young children on certain days. There are about five terminals for connection to the internet. A xeroxer is available to readers, and a bulletin board heralds local cultural events. The library’s children’s section also offers arts and crafts. Being that Amenia Free Library belongs to the Mid-Hudson Library System, membership here grants access to the confederated libraries in Columbia, Ulster, Putnam, Greene and Dutchess counties.

I absolutely love this library and I couldn't speak more highly about these librarians! Victoria, Tina and Beth go above and beyond to assist all the people that attend this library. They are so accommodating and helpful. They are always so pleasant and make it a safe space for anyone that attends! True gems in the community.

When we moved to town, the library was the first place we visited, and I’m sure glad we did! They welcomed us to Amenia with open arms. This is a nice facility with a solid collection of books, and if they don’t have what you are looking for, just ask! You’d be missing out if you didn’t stop by to check it out and say hi to the wonderful librarians!

I really enjoyed going there and it was really fun.Also we had an amazing time.
