Amato's

The food at this joint was fresh and hot. The flavor wasn't anything fantastic, but it was still a decent meal. The staff was wonderful, and I would go back just for that reason. They were helpful and our food was ready fast. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking.

I grew up in Maine and on Amatos Sandwiches, now that I live out of state this place is a must go to when I come back home! The BEST sandwich around! I wish they would come to NC! I always save half for breakfast the next day! If you haven’t been you are missing out!

I got a calzone that was really good, but I was a little disappointed the mushrooms were canned mushrooms and not fresh, I think that was the only downfall to the calzone. Otherwise the bread was perfectly crispy and had good flavor.

The food is awful, and that's really the only issue. I got my usual sandwich that I get at every sandwich place, but they are made horribly here. If you ask for oil, they literally (and I mean literally) drench the sandwich with oil so that everything slides off.

My favorite place to eat. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. And the food is amazing. Truly a Maine staple.
